Our story
Roots in the neighbourhood, eyes on the future
Our roots run deep in the football pitch
The Village's story begins in 1979, when a group of local people turned a passion for sport into a meeting place open to all. The football pitch became the first community space, where growing up together mattered more than the result.
Over the years the experience grew: sporting activities were joined by educational, cultural and recreational projects, with constant attention to young people and local families.
A new chapter begins in 2018
From 2018 the project took shape as a third-sector organisation, placing the fight against social hardship and educational poverty at its heart and building networks with local schools, institutions and associations.
With its registration in the RUNTS in 2023, Social Center Village APS consolidated its commitment, continuing to work side by side with Centro Ester for a more cohesive and inclusive neighbourhood.
A continuous commitment to the third sector since 1979
